Russ learned early in life that in order to be successful, you need to work hard and be resilient. After being accepted for a college hockey scholarship, Russ suffered a near fatal illness that took away his speech and mobility. He not only relearned to walk and speak correctly, but he also returned to hockey and college, graduating with honors. He followed this by attending graduate school and earning an MBA in just 2 and 1/2 semesters.
Today, Russ is a successful business man, private pilot, College professor at Newbury College, and a high school hockey coach and mentor. He feels it is his responsibility to pass what he has learned about dedication, responsibility and pride on to today's youth and help them find their "runway" to freedom and accomplishment.
